FLOWERS

A poster with twelve flowers of different fami...Image via Wikipedia

Flowers: They are the prettiest things. They lighten up a garden and home. I think that they are the nicest gift a person can get.

At the price that they are today even giving one flower means a lot to the recipient.

We are renting a house so I have not planted any flowers but, I have 3 African Violets on my stoep.

In Durban there are always unemployed people selling roses at the robots. They sell 4 for R20.00. Just make sure that before you buy flowers for patients in hospital that the hospital will allow you to give them. Cardiac patients are not allowed flowers or pot plants as they take up the oxygen required by the patients.

Scripture for today: John 6 Verse 35.

Then Jesus said, "I am the bread that gives life. Whosoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whosoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL TILL I BLOG AGAIN.

WHAT HAVE YOU AND I DONE WITH OUR LIVES?

'CoverCover of Louisa

Hi, my name is Louisa van der Watt
I live in Durban, South Africa
e-mail: vanderwattlouisa@yahoo.com
e-mail: louisavdw@mweb.co.za
cell: +27 72 843 0318

This is not my picture or a book about me. This picture was downloaded from the Zemanta Website.

If I ask myself the question: " Louisa, what have you done with your life?"
My answer would be: "Nothing".
The only 2 important things in my life was giving birth to my son (Shaun) in 1978 and my daughter (Samantha) in 1981.
They are the angels in my life.

If I die tomorrow there will only be a handful of people that will remember that I existed.

I think that I must concentrate on getting to know more people and doing something worthwhile to help them. I do not have the resources but, God willing I am going to try as from today.

Let us start making (NEW) friends as from today. Just make one friend per day. Say to the person that is helping you or living next door to you: " Hi, my name is .........................and it was so nice meeting you."

I, (Louisa) do not have any talents but, I will listen is you need someone to talk to or if you need prayer.
I will be there for you when you need someone to sms, e-mail, or just say I need someone to talk to.

If you have a talent don't let it go to waste. No matter how old or young you are help someone develop a talent by teaching them a craft or skill. Do not sit in an old age home and wait for the end. Speak to people. If you are in hospital make friends with the other patients. Ask me I know how much friendship helps. When I had my heart operation in 2007 all the patients got to know each other and prayed for everyone, Muslim, Hindi, Zulu and Afrikaner. Friendship and prayer crosses every border. Actually, there should not be any borders, because here in South Africa, we are all Africans - we are all equal since 1994 - Thank God for that.

DAILY SCRIPTURE: LUKE 2:8-21 - WORSHIP - AWESOME STUFF.

CONSIDER SITTING UNDER A STARRY SKY AND PONDERING GOD'S VAST POWER.

GOD BLESS YOU ONE AND ALL.

LIFE

hermano sol ● brother sunImage by jesuscm via Flickr

Hi, Its 3:16 South African Time - Friday 24/07 09

Life is a wonderful gift. What do YOU appreciate most about the life Jesus has given you?

John 6 Verse 35: Then Jesus said, "I am the bread that gives life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

People who have been (or who still are) sick should be more aware of how fragile life can be especially people who have had operations or suffering from an incurable disease.

Consider: Buying or picking a flower to display in your room as a reminder of the gift of life.

Spending an afternoon taking pictures of the thing you most enjoy about life, then creating a photo arrangement once they are developed.

Need someone to pray with you: e-mail: vanderwattlouisa@yahoo.com

Faith

If You Look with Faith ... You Can Always See ...Image by dragon762w via Flickr

This picture was downloaded from the Zemanta website -If you look with faith ... you can always see the angels.
To me this saying is really beautiful. We always try to see the wrong in people as soon as we meet them.

We always say we do not know what that person sees in the person that they are going out with or to whom they are married. We are so quick to judge and should rather be looking at our own lives instead of others. Who are we to judge. Let Jesus be the judge and rather pray for others instead of gossiping about them. Your life might be 10 times worse than theirs.

Look for that angel in other people and you will be so much happier.

LORD, ONLY YOU CAN TAKE WHATEVER LOSS I EXPERIENCE AND FILL THAT EMPTY PLACE WITH GOOD.

HOLY SPIRIT, FILL ME AFRESH WITH YOUR LOVE TODAY SO THAT IT WILL FLOW OUT OF ME AND INTO THE LIVES OF OTHERS.

GOD

Part Of Being Sane Is Being A Little Bit CrazyImage by stage88 via Flickr

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM?

NO MATTER WHAT IT IS

DON'T NURSE IT

DON'T CURSE IT

DON'T REHEARSE IT

BUT, CALL ON THE LORD

AND REVERSE IT.

DOUBT/FAITH

THE DEATH OF DOUBT: John 20 Verse 19-31
I am always doubting everything. In the youth bible it tells us to take a 20 minute walk and ask God to demonstrate his love for us in something we see. I think we must all do this it is also good exercise and we can talk to God when we are alone on our walks.

Mustard Seed: Matthew 17 Verse 20
"If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Let us pray that the Lord will take away all our doubts and give us the faith to trust and believe that God really exists.

IN MEMORIAM

Prayer in Hindi?Image by Maurits Burgers via Flickr

ISHWAR DHALLO: PASSED AWAY - 14/07/07 - HINDI.

Ishwar Dhallo, a friend and neighour passed away two years ago on his birthday.

Taken away so suddenly. There was no greater love than the love shared between Mya (Iswars' wife) and Nishan (Ishwars' son).

Unfortunately Mya Dhallo was murdered on the 6th of April this year (2009). I have had the privilege to share a friendship with this family that will be with me for the rest of my life.

Ishwar was always there when we had problems with our cars. It was no problem for him to help us sorting out the cars and also any help we needed. I just met this family (Dhallo family) in 2006, but it was a friendship that would last for ever.

Mya was always making us food. She loved her cooking (AND WE DID TOO) and sewing.

ISHWAR AND MYA DHALLO YOU WILL REMAIN IN OUR DAILY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

NISHAN YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYER TODAY.

MAY THE LORD UNDERTAKE AND HELP THE POLICE FIND THE KILLER OF MYA DHALLO. FROM YOUR FRIENDS (FAMILY) - LOUISE, LOURENS, SHAUN & SAMANTHA.

14/07/1930 - Joan Mathilda Bothma (Nee Julyan)

It is my mom's birthday today and she is 79 years old. Although she is in Port Elizabeth and I am in Durban I would just like to take this opportunity to wish her a Happy Birthday. She is spending the day with my sister (and her daughter) - Joan Wilken, her husband - Leon Wilken, her granddaughters - Leigh and Kim, her great-grandson - Joshua (Leigh's son), her ex-husband - Hannes Bothma and her sister - Ruth Julyan. May she have a happy and joyous day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Lord for sparing our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister for all these years. She has been an inspiration to all.

Psalm 47 verse 7: God is King of all the earth, so sing a song of praise to him.

Proverbs 29: Verse 25: Being afraid of people can get you into trouble, but if you trust the Lord, you will be safe.

SECOND HAND BABY PRODUCTS

Baby clothes laundry line gift!Image by amy_kearns via Flickr

BABY CLOTHES: I think baby clothes are the most expensive item for a baby. It does not last long then it has to be replaced. Unless you are expecting to have more children later this is a very expensive disposable item. My niece is expecting her baby very soon and as we cannot afford to purchase expensive gifts (I don't think anybody can afford to buy expensive items now) I have gone to an online auction and purchased lovely baby clothes for a fraction of the price. If you have any second-hand (good) baby clothes and need money put it up for auction.

BABIES & BIBLES

e-mail: louisavdw@mweb.co.za & vanderwattlouisa@yahoo.com

Bibles: In the youth bible the following scriptures describe how lost we feel when we're not following God. Hear what life is like without God in Isaiah63:16 - 64:8.

Pack a survival kit to use as you follow God. Include a list of people you could call when you run into trouble, a Bible, a Christian songbook, a journal, and a pen.

Always make sure you have friends or someone to contact if you need a shoulder to cry on or just someone to pray for you. You are welcome to sms me or e-mail me if you do not have someone to pray with you. E-mail address above - cell no:

+27 728430318 (Day or night).

Let us pray for everyone wherever they may be. God Bless.

BABIES: There are so many people having babies or who have had babies.

Bee Bee: She was in hospital with me in 2007 at the Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban, South Africa. We had both had our mitral valves replaced. Bee Bee is Muslim and has a daughter and a son. Her daughter had a beautiful baby girl in December 2007.

Doreen: She is a Christian friend of mine. She is Zulu speaking (but fortunately for me she speaks English as well). She has two grown up daughters who have children of their own. Therefore she is a granny and has just had another daughter in May 2009. She had problems with the pregnancy and the baby was delivered by cesarean. Praise the Lord it is a healthy baby girl.

Justene: She is my youngest sister-in-laws daughter. She had a son on the 18 of January 2009, unfortunately a day after my mother-in-laws birthday. His name is Wiandre and he is a very healthy boy. I am jealous (joking) of my sister-in-law

as I was going out with my husband when she was born in 1968 and her daughter has already had a baby and my two (a son of 31 & a daughter of 28) have not even got married yet. Fortunately my sister-in-law and her daughter send me regular photos via sms.

Leigh: She is my sister's daughter and her aunts favourite. She has a son of 4 yrs and is expecting another baby next month. Unfortunately due to financial reason she has not got any baby accessories, but praise God her mothers church - Oasis Family Church in Port Elizabeth, South Africa is giving her a Stork Party on Saturday. Please pray that she will receive all the things that is required for her baby.

I would like to start an Outreach Program for people who are in need or clothing or whatever. Do you know of someone who has old clothes, furniture or any essentials that can be donated to people in need. Contact me: e-mail: vanderwattlouisa@yahoo.com or louisavdw@mweb.co.za or sms: +27 728430318 - Louisa
