KEEPING IN FOCUS

Endless loveImage by millzero.com via Flickr

Corinthians 7:29-35
29 Brothers and sisters,
this is what I mean: We
do not have much time
left. So starting now,
those who have wives
should live as if they had
no wives.
30 Those who are crying
should live as if they were
not crying. Those who are
happy should live as if they
were not happy. Those
who buy things should live
as if they own nothing.
31 Those who use the
things of the world should
live as if they were not
using them, because this
world in it present form
will be gone.
32. I want you to be free
from worry. A man who
is not married is busy
with the Lord's work,
trying to please the Lord.
33. But a man who is
married is busy with
things of the world,
trying to please his wife.
34. He must think about
2 things - pleasing his
wife and pleasing the
Lord. A woman who is
not married or a girl who
has never married is
busy with the Lord's
work. She wants to be
holy in body and spirit.
But a married woman
is busy with things of
the world, as to how
she can please her
husband.
35. I am saying this
to help you, not to
limit you. But I want
you to live in the right
way, to give yourselves
fully to the Lord with-
out concern for other
things.
CONSIDER: ASKING
GOD TO REVEAL ANY
DISTRACTIONS IN
YOUR LIFE THAT KEEP
YOU FROM FOCUSING
YOUR LOVE ON HIM.
IN NEED OF PRAYER?

LIKE GREAT-GRANDMOTHER

Grandmother´s Flower GardenImage by art_es_anna via Flickr

PROVERBS 31:10-31
The Good Wife
10 It is hard to find a
wife, because she is
worth more than rubies.
11. Her husbands trusts
her completely. With
her, he has everything
he needs.
12. She does him good
and not harm for as long
as she lives.
13. She looks for wool
and flax and likes to
work with her hands.
14. She is like a trader's
ship, bringing food from
far away.
15. She gets up while
it is still dark and pre-
pares food for her
family and feeds her
servant girls.
16. She inspects a field
and buys it. With
money she earned, she
plants a vineyard.
17. She does her work
with energy, and her
arms are strong.
18. She knows that
what she makes is good.
Her lamp burns late
into the night.
19. She makes thread
with her hands and
weaves her own cloth.
20. She welcomes the
poor and helps the
needy.
21. She does not
worry about her
family when it snows,
because they all have
fine clothes to keep
them warm.
22. She makes cover-
ings for herself; her
clothes are made of
linen and other
expensive material.
23. Her husband is
known at the city
meetings, where he
makes decisions as
one of the leaders of
the land.
24. She makes linen
clothes and sells them
and provides belts to
merchants.
25. She is strong and
is respected by the
people. She looks for-
ward to the future with
joy.
26. She speaks wise
words and teaches others
to be kind.
27. She watches over
her family and never
wastes her time.
28. Her children speak
well of her. Her husband
also praises her,
29. Saying, "There are
many fine woman, but you
are better than all of them."
30. Charm can fool you,
and beauty can trick you,
but a woman who respects
the Lord should be praised.
31. Give her the reward
she has earned; she should
be praised in public for what
she has done.

I LONG TO DWELL IN YOUR

PRESENCE, LORD, AND I

WANT TO KNOW YOU IN

EVERY WAY YOU CAN BE

KNOWN.

LIFE

This sms was sent to
me by a friend - Devi.
When I woke up this
morning in bed I said
to myself; whats life
about? I found the
answers in my very
room; the fan said be
cool, the roof said aim
high. The window said
see the world. The
clock said every minute
is precious, the mirror
said reflect before you
act. The calender said
be up to date. The door
said push hard for your
goals. The carpet said
kneel down and pray.
God bless.

LORD, MAKE ME TO BE

ONE OF YOUR FAITHFUL

INTERCESSORS, AND

TEACH ME HOW TO PRAY

IN POWER.

NEED SOMEONE TO

PRAY WITH YOU.

JUST ENTER YOUR

NAME AND REQUEST.

THE BIG BLAST

Watching the skyImage by duane.schoon via Flickr

JOEL 2:1-2
Blow the trumpet in
Jerusalem; shout a
warning on my holy
mountain. Let all the
people who live in the
land shake with fear,
because the Lord's day
of judging is coming;
it is near.
2. It will be a dark,
gloomy day, cloudy
and black. Like the
light at sunrise, a
great powerful army
will spread over the
mountains. There
has never been any-
thing like it before,
and there will never
be anything like it
again.
Consider: Riding a
bicycle, walking or
just getting out in
nature to view God's
Power.

ANGER

Paddy's Around Your Perfect FaceImage by kugel via Flickr

Psalm 4:
1. Answer me when I pray to you,
my God who does what is right.
Make things easier for me when
I am in trouble.
Have mercy on me and hear my
prayer.
2. People, how long will you turn
my honor into shame?
How long will you love what is
false and look for new lies?
3. You know that the Lord has
chosen for himself those who are
loyal to him. The Lord listens
when I pray to him.
4. When you are angy, do not sin.
Think about these things quietly
as you go to bed.
5. Do what is right as a sacrifice to
the Lord.
6. Many people ask, "Who will give
us anything good?" Lord be
kind to us.
7. But you have made me very happy,
happier than they are.
8. I go to bed and sleep in peace,
because, Lord, only you keep me safe.

Consider:
1) Seeking forgiveness from someone you've sinned
against because of your anger.
2) Picturing the place or situation in which you get
the angriest, and asking God to help you stay
calm the next time you're there.

GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU SAFE.

HERBS

Herbs: basil, scallionImage via Wikipedia

BASIL: Add fresh basil to sauces,
marinades, salads, cheese
and tomato dishes. Makes
an excellent pot plant on a
sunny window sill. Keeps
flies out of the kitchen.
Plant basil around tomatoes.

BRAGGING

A sign of things to come.Image by aussiegall via Flickr

BIBLE READING 4 TODAY:

1 SAMUEL 2:1-10

Hannah Gives Thanks.

After reading consider:

1) Stopping yourself next time

you're temped to brag about

honor or public recognition.

Instead, use your gifts to

help others.

2) Thanking God for the gifts

you have, instead of bragging

about them.

AN ANTIDOTE FOR FEAR

FogImage by Indy Kethdy via Flickr

FEAR: PSALM 27:

1. The Lord is my light and
the one who saves me.
I fear no one.
The Lord protects my life;
I am afraid of no one.
2. Evil people may try to
destroy my body.
My enemies and those who
hate me attack me,
but they are overwhelmed
and defeated.
3. If an army surrounds me,
I will not be afraid.
If war breaks out,
I will trust the Lord.
4. I ask only one thing from the Lord.
This is what I want:
Let me live in the Lord's house all my life.
Let me see the Lord's beauty
and look with my own eyes at his Temple.
5. During danger he will keep me safe in his shelter.
He will hide me in his Holy Tent, or he will keep
me safe on a high mountain.
6. My head is higher than my enemies around me.
I will offer joyful sacrifices in his Holy Tent.
I will sing and praise the Lord.
7. Lord, hear me when I call;
have mercy and answer me.
8. My heart said of you, "Go, worship Him."
So I will worship you, Lord.
9. Do not turn away from me.
Do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have helped me.
Do not push me away or leave me alone, God, my Savior.
10If my faither and mother leave me, the Lord will take me in.
11Lord, teach me your ways, and guide me to do what is right
because I have enemies.
12Do not hand me over to my enemies, because they tell lies
about me and say they will hurt me.
13I truly believe I will live to see the Lord's goodness.
14Wait for the Lord's help. Be strong and brave, and wait
for the Lord's help.

GOD BLESS YOU ONE AND ALL.

"YOURS FREE"

Butterfly on BougainvilleaImage by zaQography via Flickr

"Yours free!

Just Call

(Day or Night)

and claim

Your Prize!

No Obligation!"

It is a once-in-a-lifetime offer.

This is no scam. This offer is guaranteed.

"Everyone's a winner."

"Call now to learn what you have won!"

"Does this sound too good to be true?"

All around us are too-good-to-be-true offers. Most are hoaxes.

GOD IS OFFERING YOU A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OFFER OF HIS LOVE.

All he is asking of you is to go down on your knees and ask him for his help. His love is unconditional. There are no strings attached.

Galations 4:4-7

4: But when the right time came God sent his Son who was born of a woman and lived under the law.

5: God did this so he could buy freedom for those who were under the law and so we could become his children.

6: Since you are God's children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, and the Spirit cries out, "Father".

7: So now you are not a slave; you are God's child, and God will give you the blessing he promised, because you are his child.

Question: How are YOU going to respond to this offer?
